  • What is the Difference Between Single Curve and Multi Curve Ballistic Plate?
    Feb 14, 2023
Improved comfort and fit is a distinguishing factor between single and multi-curve ballistic plate designs. The more comfortable the armor is to wear, the more likely it is to be worn. Multi-curve models bullet proof plate are designed to fit more ergonomically and anatomically when positioned against the human torso. This translates into an improved range of motion and longer wearability in the field. We YF PROTECTOR offers both single and multi-curve models ballistic plate to accommodate most any budget.

  • How Can The Vests Be Bulletproof?
    Mar 08, 2023
A bulletproof vest is composed of plate carrier clothing and ballistic plates. What really plays the bulletproof role is the ballistic plates. The clothing is just the carrier but not bulletproof.    Ballistic plates are divided into two categories. One is soft plates (relatively weak protection ability), and the other is reinforced / composite hard plates (relatively strong protection ability).    The soft plates are usually made of high-performance fibers (such as UHMWPE and Kevlar). Its bulletproof principle is that when the bullet / fragment hits the fiber layer, the huge impact force will be consumed when stretching and shearing the fiber layer. At the same time, the fiber layer will spread the impact force generated by the bullet / fragment to the area outside the impact point, so as to absorb the impact force. The soft plates can resist the bullets of pistols and shotguns or fragments of explosives such as grenades, as well as long-distance automatic rifle attacks (not at close range). The hard plates are made of metal, ceramic, high-performance composite plate and other hard materials on the basic of soft plates. The bulletproof principle is that when the bullet hits, firstly the metal plate, ceramic plate or composite plate in the bulletproof plate contacts the bullet (equivalent to the first line of defense). At the moment of contact, the bullet and these hard bulletproof material plates may crack, which consumes most of the bullet’s energy. As the second line of defense as well as a buffer, the soft bulletproof material absorbs and diffuses the remaining energy of the bullet, so as to achieve the purpose of bulletproof. The hard plates can resist more powerful weapons, such as automatic rifles.

  • New Bulletproof Material-Polyurea
    May 15, 2023
In daily life, if we are careful enough, we will find that many skyscrapers, truck covers, oil platforms, and bulletproof equipment have a common material – polyurea. The popularization and promotion of polyurea is said to have originated from the experiments of a group of Italians. They tried to free fall the polyurea-coated watermelon from a height of 45 meters, and the watermelon bounced back when it landed, and its appearance was intact. In order to further verify the protective ability of polyurea, some people also tried to spray polyurea on eggs and tested, and the eggs were also intact. With its excellent protective properties, polyurea has become more and more widely used in various fields from heavy industry to agriculture, especially in the field of protective products, its application is also more and more promising.   Polyurea is formulated from specific raw materials in a specific proportion. Its specific material formulations are kept secret commercially, but the basic ingredients can be identified as a combination of isocyanate and polyol resin. Polyols primarily act as plasticizers, and when the two components are combined, they polymerize to form a long-chain molecule. Long chains of molecules are intertwined with each other to form an indestructible material called polyurea. In addition, these long-chain molecules are stretchable and have high flexibility, which also endows the polyurea material with ultra-high tensile and tear resistance.   In addition, polyurea has many performance advantages, such as:Quick-drying – Polyurea coatings sprayed on surfaces such as various instruments and equipment can be dried and set in seconds and are ready for use.Very high wear and compression resistance.Good chemical resistance.Super airtight and waterproof.Does not contain VOCs, CFCs, solvents, etc., and does not cause any pollution to the environment.   It is precisely because of these characteristics of polyurea that it has a lot of attention to its use method and application. At present, polyurea is usually coated on the surface of objects by thermal spraying, which is time-critical because once the two components of the coating are combined, the reaction starts immediately and cannot be reversed. In the process of use, the two coatings need to be pressed into a special spray gun through a heated hose, the two are quickly mixed at the moment of spraying, and then quickly dried and formed in a few seconds.
